The Pumpman is a specialist tanker rating responsible for the cargo pumps, pipelines, and valves during loading, discharging, and tank-cleaning operations. Working closely with the Chief Officer and cargo team, the Pumpman is central to safe and efficient tanker cargo work.
Certificates and requirements
- Experience as a tanker deck / engine rating
- Tanker familiarisation and relevant advanced tanker cargo courses
- STCW Basic Safety Training and a valid medical certificate
- Strong knowledge of cargo systems and safety procedures
