How Sonar access works
Anyone can search the crew pool and see what is in it — rank, sea time, vessel types, certificates and when each seafarer last confirmed they were available. Names, phone numbers, email addresses and CVs are hidden.
To unlock a seafarer's contact details you must be a verified company: your RPSL number checked against the DGS list, and a working email address on your company's own domain. Seafarers give us their details so shipping companies can reach them, and that is the only thing we use them for.
Questions
Do seafarers ever pay?
No. Posting a CV, being found and applying are free, and there is no placement fee.
Can we post vacancies without paying?
Yes, and there is no limit. Free posting is the point of the platform — the paid plans are about visibility and reach, not access.
What is Anchor Magazine?
Our quarterly review of the industry — interviews, features and first-hand accounts from people who sail. It is read by seafarers and shore staff across the fleet, and paid plans carry a page in it.
What is Maritime Briefs?
Our daily maritime news site. Company features on it are written by our editorial team, not supplied as advertising copy.
Can we change plan later?
Yes, at any point. Annual plans are billed once; monthly plans can be stopped at the end of any month.
