Terms of use

These terms govern your use of shiplo.in and the services on it, operated by NineCC Education India Pvt Ltd. By using Shiplo you accept them.

What Shiplo is

Shiplo is a maritime hiring and media network. It carries:

• vacancies posted by shipping companies, ship managers and licensed manning agents
• a directory of those companies, with licence details where they are licensed
• Sonar, a search over seafarers who have submitted a CV to us
• Maritime Briefs, our news site, and Anchor Magazine, our quarterly review
• distribution of vacancies to our WhatsApp community and Telegram channel

Shiplo does not recruit or place seafarers for service on ships. Sea-going vacancies belong to the companies that post them, and any contract is between the seafarer and that company. We separately offer shore-based placement as a paid service to hiring companies; that is described at shiplo.in/contact and is never charged to the candidate.

No accounts

Shiplo has no logins or passwords. Seafarers submit a CV; companies claim or edit their page and unlock contacts through single-use links we email to them. Treat those links as private — anyone holding one can act as you. Tell us immediately if a link is misused.

Eligibility

• You must be 18 or over to submit a CV or use the services.
• Companies must be legally constituted and authorised to hire.
• Information you give us must be true. That matters most for certificates, sea service and licence numbers.

If you are a seafarer

• Keep your details accurate, and tell us when your availability changes.
• Do not submit false sea service, forged certificates or another person's documents.
• Check any employer before signing. We verify licence status where we can, but we do not vet contracts, wages or vessels.
• Never pay anyone for a job. If a company contacts you through Shiplo and asks for money, tell us and we will remove them.

If you are a company

• Post only genuine vacancies you are authorised to fill.
• Use seafarer contact details only to consider that person for work, and keep them no longer than you need. Do not resell, redistribute or add them to marketing lists.
• Do not request payment, deposits or commission from candidates.
• Do not attempt to unlock contacts on behalf of anyone else, or share unlock links outside your company.
• Hold the licences your jurisdiction requires for the hiring you do.

Paid plans

Paid plans are described on our pricing page and buy visibility and placement, not outcomes. We do not guarantee any number of applications, hires or enquiries. Refunds are governed by our refund policy.

Not allowed

• Impersonating a company or seafarer, or posting on their behalf without authority
• Scraping, bulk downloading or automated collection of profiles, contact details or listings
• Circumventing unlock limits or verification
• Posting misleading, discriminatory or unlawful content
• Probing, overloading or interfering with the service

We may remove content, withdraw access or suspend a plan for breach, without refund where the breach is serious.

Content and intellectual property

Shiplo's design, text, code, Maritime Briefs articles and Anchor Magazine material belong to us or our contributors. Company names and logos belong to their owners and appear here to identify them. You may link to us freely and quote us with attribution; you may not republish substantial parts without permission.

What you submit stays yours. By submitting it you allow us to host it, show it to the audiences described in our privacy policy, and include vacancy content in our WhatsApp and Telegram distribution.

Removal

Ask and we will take your CV or your company page down. Write to ceo@shiplo.in. We may keep a minimal record where law requires it.

Liability

Shiplo connects people. We do not employ seafarers, we are not party to any employment contract, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of anything a company or seafarer tells us. We are not responsible for hiring decisions, the conduct of either side, or loss arising from dealings that began here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; significant changes will be notified on the site or by email. These terms are governed by the law of India, with jurisdiction in the courts of New Delhi.
