ECDIS is run by 3 approved institutes in Chennai region. Two publish fees, Rs 11,900 to Rs 12,000. Next batch 24 September at AMET City College. AMET City College also runs it with ARPA together for Rs 28,500.
Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems training covers navigation using electronic charts rather than paper. It teaches chart loading and updating, route planning and monitoring, alarms and safety settings, the limitations and common errors of the system, and the legal position of ECDIS as the primary means of navigation.
