The Electro Technical Officer course trains the officer responsible for a ship's electrical and electronic systems — a rank that became mandatory on many vessels as automation increased. It covers power generation and distribution, motor and control systems, automation and instrumentation, and the high voltage installations now common on large ships.
Employment as Electro Technical Officer.
An electrical or electronics engineering qualification. The course itself runs four months.
