GMDSS GOC is run by 28 approved institutes. Seven publish fees, Rs 21,450 to Rs 35,500. Next batch 3 October at Hoon Maritime Institute. AMET City College also runs it with ARPA, ECDIS, MFA and SSO together for Rs 93,500.
The General Operator's Certificate for GMDSS qualifies a deck officer to operate the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System. It covers distress, urgency and safety communications by radio and satellite, EPIRB and SART operation, DSC procedures, and the practical use of shipboard radio equipment.
Required for deck officers on vessels operating under GMDSS.
