MEO I is run by 3 approved institutes in Mumbai region. One publishes fees, Rs 30,050. Next batch 2 November at The Institute of Marine Engineers(India). The Institute of Marine Engineers(India) also runs it with DECGS together for Rs 41,100, Rs 1,000 less than booking both separately.
MEO Class I is the chief engineer certificate, the senior engineering qualification. It covers advanced motor and steam engineering, naval architecture, management and legal responsibility, and the accountability of the officer in charge of a ship's entire machinery installation.
MEO Class I — Chief Engineer.
MEO Class II and the required sea service as Second Engineer.
