Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats qualifies a seafarer to take charge of a lifeboat or liferaft during and after abandonment. It covers launching and handling survival craft in a seaway, operating the engine, managing survivors, using location devices, and rescue boat operations.
Required for officers and for crew assigned to survival craft. Refresh every five years.
