The Engine Cadet (Trainee Marine Engineer) is a trainee engineer, learning engine-room operations, watchkeeping, and maintenance under the engineers while completing a structured training record book on the way to an MEO Class 4 certificate.
Certificates and requirements
- Completed pre-sea marine engineering training (GME / B.Tech / Diploma or equivalent)
- STCW Basic Safety Training and a valid medical certificate
- A structured Training Record Book to complete on board
- Eagerness to learn - the first step toward becoming a marine engineer
