AFF is run by 49 approved institutes. 13 publish fees, Rs 2,665 to Rs 12,200. Next batch 5 October at Hoon Maritime Institute. CMC Maritime Academy, Chennai (Campus) also runs it with MFA and PSCRB together for Rs 16,000, Rs 1,000 less than booking them separately.
Advanced Training in Fire Fighting prepares a seafarer to take charge during a fire rather than simply fight one. It covers controlling operations aboard, organising and training fire parties, inspecting and servicing fire detection and extinguishing systems, and investigating incidents afterwards. Substantially practical, in live fire.
Required for officers and for anyone designated to control fire fighting operations. Refresh every five years.
