ARPA is run by 32 approved institutes. 11 publish fees, Rs 3,999 to Rs 27,000. Next batch 14 September at BP Marine Academy. International Maritime Institute also runs it with ROC and ECDIS together for Rs 28,000.
Automatic Radar Plotting Aids training covers the use of ARPA for collision avoidance: acquiring and tracking targets, interpreting vectors and trial manoeuvres, understanding the errors and limitations of the system, and applying the collision regulations to what the display shows.
Required for navigating officers.
