ECDIS is run by 37 approved institutes. Ten publish fees, Rs 7,255 to Rs 16,200. Next batch 12 September at Sensea Maritime Academy. International Maritime Institute also runs it with ROC and ARPA together for Rs 28,000.
Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems training covers navigation using electronic charts rather than paper. It teaches chart loading and updating, route planning and monitoring, alarms and safety settings, the limitations and common errors of the system, and the legal position of ECDIS as the primary means of navigation.
