PSCRB is run by 39 approved institutes. 12 publish fees, Rs 2,718 to Rs 12,200. Next batch 14 September at BP Marine Academy. CMC Maritime Academy, Chennai (Campus) also runs it with AFF and MFA together for Rs 16,000.
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats qualifies a seafarer to take charge of a lifeboat or liferaft during and after abandonment. It covers launching and handling survival craft in a seaway, operating the engine, managing survivors, using location devices, and rescue boat operations.
Required for officers and for crew assigned to survival craft. Refresh every five years.
